End of an Era

After almost 13 years of updating this site with GRANRODEO and Taniyama Kishou news, I’ve decided to step back. My heart clearly hasn’t been in it for the last several years, for which I apologize. I thought that might change when I retired and had plenty of time to update the site, but alas, no. I still love GRANRODEO as much as I ever have and will still follow them to the ends of the earth (well, the borders of Japan), but the foreign fandom doesn’t really need me any more, I think.

Y’all are Twitter-savvy and catch news long before I do often and you use AI to translate lyrics, so no need for me to do it by hand any more. I thought I might continue to relate my individual experiences with GR, but as it’s become painfully obvious KISHOW won’t leave Japan again (robbing foreign fans the chance to see them in person), that just seems like bragging and rubbing salt into the wound.

I will still keep up with the discography, set lists and the GR timeline (all of which are out of date right now), but no sense reposting stuff from Twitter any more. I have a couple of last posts I’ll make soon and might post some old live show notes from Roo. And if something momentous happens, I’ll definitely report on it.

Thank you to everyone who might’ve gotten something from the site, and particularly to those I’ve met and those who showed their appreciation.

    I appreciate all the work you’ve done these past 10+ years in sharing tidbits and news about this amazing and, in my opinion, underrated band. I’ve been living vicariously through your concert/event experiences since I don’t live in Japan. Hopefully, one day I can visit and have an opportunity to watch them live, but in the meantime, I buy their music (import fees and all), watch any video I can about the members, and, hope I can soon figure out how to play e-Zuka’s incredible riffs on my electric guitar.
