The G9 shows (1/5 — Saitama Super Arena; 2/16 — Osaka-jo Hall) are rapidly approaching, and I’d like to put out a call, as I did for the G8 shows, for letters and gifts from fans around the world.
For those of you not aware, Japanese events and concerts tend to have gift boxes set out for fans to leave items for the artsts. In the case of Granrodeo, there’s one box for each of the guys, plus a general Granrodeo box. And yes, they definitely read the letters and enjoy the gifts that fans send (Takita and Val always say thank you in their blog entries after shows).
I like to take every opportunity I can to show Kishow and e-zuka that they have fans all over the world. At previous shows this year, I’ve brought letters and sketches from fans in Denmark, the U.S., the Philippines, Peru and more. (Plus bringing fans from Canada and Singapore to the shows with me!) It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, or even store-bought — a hand-written letter or sketch would be just as sweet as anything else. Just something to show how much these guys and their music means to you.
So I am once again going to open up my inbox and mailbox (and suitcase!) to anyone who’d like to send something for the January show. I would need your letters and gifts by December 31st at the absolute latest (and sooner is better, in case I need to print something and the printer acts up). I can print artwork on photo paper for you, and letters. I’m not really in a position to translate anything for you, so if Japanese is beyond you, stick to English. Please include a name (doesn’t have to be a real one) and your country, so I can let the guys know where the gift came from. If you want to send a small present (do please keep it small as I’ll only have a carry-on), such as a souvenir from your country, let me know and I’ll get you a mailing address.
Please contact me with submissions, questions, etc. at the email link in the left hand column of the main page (Email Us: Rodeo Girls).
I hope to hear from Rodeo Boys and Girls from all over!
