Welcome to part one of our guide to attending GRANRODEO’s first U.S. appearance!

Since the music festival GR is taking part of, J-POP Sound Capsule: Anisong World Matsuri, is a part of Anime Expo, the first thing you’ll need to do is register for the convention.

Here’s a step by step walk through of the process.

NOTE: If you do not have a credit card, you won’t be able to register in advance. You would have to register at the convention and hope that tickets for the concert are still available.

Go to https://www.anime-expo.org/ and click on the Registration button.

Select the ticket type you want. If you just want to go to the concert, select the Thursday ticket and select the number of tickets you need.

If you are in the U.S. or Canada, select the option to get your convention badge mailed to you. If you’re from anywhere else, select Will Call. You’ll need to pick your ticket up at the convention.

Note the extra fees and the final total, then click Checkout.

Select answers for the required questions on the general registration screen.

Read the policy text, then click the checkbox and then Continue

Type your email in the Send this ticket to… field

Fill in your name and billing information. Enter your credit card, check the three checkboxes, and then click Complete Order.

You should see a confirmation screen with a confirmation ID and 3D barcode

Congratulations, you’re registered for AX! You’ll be prompted to create an account. Go ahead and do this.

If you opted to have your badge mailed to you, it’ll be sent to you before the convention start date. If you have to use Will Call, you can pick up your tickets at the venue starting 7/2. If you want to do anything at the convention the morning of 7/3, I strongly suggest you pick up your badge on the 2nd. Otherwise, you’ll lose a couple of hours of convention time to standing in line for badge pickup.
