In this latest interview with OK Music, Kiiyan surprised e-zuka by saying that 変幻自在のマジカルスター is, in part, an homage to Okamura Yasuyuki, who they sang with at Animax Music this past fall. When asked about the coupling songs, Kiiyan talked about fairy tales (Snow White and Cinderella in particular, the Grimm Brothers’ versions) and e-zuka said they were asked by management to make it mid-tempo.There’s also apparently a LOT of word play in the song (Kiiyan was joking about a woman feeling boxed in … then pointing out how Snow White is literally boxed in when she’s in the glass coffin). The other song, e-zuka says, is a bit John Meyer-ish, a bit dandyish, a bit bluesy. Intriguing! He also said their year is planned out to the very end already — and Kiiyan sounds super enthusiastic about playing live houses this spring and summer.
