This show was recorded last week, and e-zuka was on his own because Kiiyan sprained his leg in Kumamoto and went to the hospital to have it checked out. Leaving e-zuka on his own without Kiiyan to keep him in line is a dangerous thing. So we learn that Val apparently drinks a lot of protein drinks and is “very manly.” And that e-zuka thinks Kiiyan’s upper arms are too muscled … and he likes to turn the air conditioning down near freezing.
This week’s Mr. Tambourine Man is all about Japanese novelist Soseki Natsume. While on a walk near Waseda University one day, Kiiyan encountered a small stone monument dedicated to Soseki (he tweeted the picture a few weeks ago), and that was his inspiration for this show. He’s apparently a big fan of Soseki’s, and shared a rather amusing tidbit about Soseki’s wife. In case you don’t know, one of Soseki’s best known novels is I am a Cat. Well … ironically, it turns out Soseki’s wife hated cats.
